Language Learners’ Disengagement in e-Learning during COVID-19: Secondary Teachers’ Views

The study looked at language teachers’ views of their students’ disengagement in e-learning during COVID-19. It described efforts on how to engage the learners beyond screen, where teachers have no control, and overcome issues disturbing engagement, motivation, achievement. learning engagement as an important requirement e-learning, which is influenced by social factors including communication with students, interaction among themselves, collaboration activities. This used interviews, reports, notes 15 collect data from some Saudi secondary schools academic year 2020–2021. That was completely delivered platforms. findings show that ran into several difficulties online sessions year; students lacked ethics requirements for e-learning; technical disabled both remaining engagement. These three main results propose a framework educators, parents, policymakers deal obstacles threats lessons. ends suggestions future studies.
